Local authorities in northern China’s port city Qinhuangdao recently issued strict measures to control kitchen knives prior to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) holding its annual top circle meeting in the city’s Beidaihe district this summer.

According to local media Qinhuangdao Evening News, on June 18, Qinhuangdao launched a campaign to control knives in the city. Law enforcement officers tethered all kitchen knives and scissors in food stalls with strong metal cords.
