On July 9, Australia suspended its extradition agreement with Hong Kong and extended a hand to help Hong Kong residents. Australia changed its policies to extend offerings to skilled visa holders to five years from today and also offer them a pathway to permanent residency.

Prime Minister of Australia Scott Morrison said: “We continue to be concerned about issues in Hong Kong as many nations are and we’ve remained in close contact with other like-minded countries about these issues.”
