At 11:09 Aug. 15, a foreign man entered the court building for the normal security checks and X-ray examinations. He was found to possess one sharp metal “weapon” hidden in his backpack. The security guard immediately called the police. He was then arrested on suspicion of “possession of offensive weapons.” This was the third such incident in eight days.

It is reported that the arrested man is of American nationality, aged 39. He is also a holder of a Hong Kong ID card and reported to work as a chef at a club. This morning, the man went to the West Kowloon Magistrates’ Court to submit documents and supplementary information to assist in the relevant procedures on behalf of his deceased friend. However, during security check at the entrance, security guards discovered he had a jackknife hidden in his backpack.
