Chicago shootings have left one person dead and at least 20 people injured since Friday evening, continuing the trend of weekend shootings in the city, according to local media reports.

Shannon Ware, 27, was shot and killed outside of his 116th Street home, reported the Chicago Sun-Times. He was hit in the head and chest, authorities said.

Ware was standing with a group of people when an unidentified male shot at them from across the street before fleeing in a sedan.

On Friday night, as NBC Chicago reported, six people were wounded in a drive-by shooting in the Uptown neighborhood, according to a fire department spokesman. Six people were taken to nearby hospitals in five ambulances--all were in good condition.

Two hours later, an 18-year-old man was shot in the groin in the Lawndale neighborhood, police told NBC.

The Sun-Times reported that the last shooting took place at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood when a 20-year-old man was shot in the thigh, police said. He was taken to a nearby hospital and is in good condition.

The Chicago Tribune reported that nine people were shot overnight on Saturday, including one incident when someone drove a 17-year-old boy to Loretto Hospital with a gunshot wound to the right calf.
