Chicago shootings over the weekend left two people dead and injured at least 24 people, according to reports on Monday.

The shootings started Friday night and lasted until late Sunday.

The most recent murder victim was a 24-year-old man who was shot Sunday at the 2400 block of East 75th Street in the South Shore neighborhood, police told CBS Chicago on Monday. He was killed by multiple gunshot wounds, but police did not disclose his name.

On Saturday night, 27-year-old Shannon Ware was shot in the head and chest and was the other victim last weekend. He was shot and killed outside his home on 116th Street, officials said.

He was standing with a group of people when an unidentified gunman fired shots from across the street, striking him.

A woman and her 2-year-old son were also injured during a drive-by shooting on Sunday evening in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side, according to the Chicago Tribune.

A relative of the 26-year-old mother said that she and the toddler were shot as the woman sat in a minivan in the passenger’s seat with her son on her lap.

Police said the most recent shooting victim was a 24-year-old man who was injured during the course of a robbery. Two people approached him at 3:35 a.m. and tried to rob him, and when he tried to flee, they shot him in the leg.

Around an hour before that, two people were shot on the 5700 block on South Prairie Avenue in the Washington Park neighborhood on the South Side, according to the paper.

The weekend before last, 9 people were killed and 47 injured, according to the Tribune.
