Charlie Sheen in court: Charlie Sheen and former wife Denise Richards went to court in Los Angeles on Tuesday, with Sheen backing Richards to keep custody of ex-wife Brooke Mueller’s twins.

The twin sons have been under the custody of Richards since they were taken from Mueller a week ago. Officials found that the boys were living under squalid conditions.

Mueller went to rehab recently for “prescription drug abuse,” a representative told the New York Daily News.

“Charlie supports the actions of the Department of Children and Family Services,” a Sheen publicist told the paper. “He knows Max and Bob are safe and in a stable, loving environment with Denise and the boys’ sisters. Charlie will fully cooperate and fully participate in all proceedings.”

Sheen was photographed putting two thumbs up in the air as he got into a car outside the court.

Another representative for Mueller gave a different account of the situation, saying she was at the UCLA Medical Center since Friday, reported E! News.

“Brooke misses her children and wants to get healthy so she can resume her life and get back to being a mom,” the spokesperson said.

Another source told E! that Mueller “is not upset…she trusts Denise, adding that “everyone is glad [Max and Bob] have some stability.”
