With her latest fashion designs available for purchase in Santa Monica clothing stores, Cecilia Cassini is showing promise in her career as a fashion designer.

Cassinni recently sold some of her clothes to Fred Segal’s clothing store in Santa Monica, Calif. The sale puts the young designer in a league of her own due to the fact that she is only 10 years old. She was discovered by journalists at CBS and the Los Angeles Daily News, among others, who have given Cassini considerable exposure.

“It sounds like she is a prodigy. It’s just not normal to hear of a 10-year-old with that kind of passion for fashion design,” says Mary Stephens, director of Fashion Design at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, on Cassini’s website, www.ceciliacassini.com.

The young designer got her first sewing machine when she was six. “My parents told me that I was always painting or cutting my clothes [as a baby],” she told Inspire Magazine. She has had limited training and has developed the majority of her abilities through trial and error. Cassinni is still in school but plans to follow her creative aspirations as much as possible.

In 2010, Cecilia Cassini expects to have an appearance on the Today Show, a trunk show, and multiple fashion shows in New York.

For specifics on Cassini’s clothing lines in Los Angeles visit www.fredsegal.com, or her personal website. The majority of the young designer’s dresses are available for purchase for under a hundred dollars.

“Cecilia hopes to inspire all children to believe in themselves and to follow their dreams,” her online presence declares.
