Looking for a bold, on-trend solution to drab decor? Try a dark hue for your walls (yes, your walls!). From sleek black to moody gunmetal gray, dark walls can transform any room into a trendy contemporary space.

But won’t dark walls swallow up the room and make it appear too dark? Not if you do it correctly. The trick to pulling off dark-colored walls is to balance it with lighter colors - like silver, white and bright gold. Shiny metals will reflect light and contrast beautifully with dark colors.

If you don’t want spring for painting the whole room, try starting with an always-chic accent wall! A great hue to start with is Brooks Gray from Mythic Paint, which is a dark-but-not-too-dark gray! This way you can avoid going with a stark black and ease into the look.
