A deal that has guard Caron Butler going to the Milwaukee Bucks in return for point guard Ish Smith and center Slava Kravtsov going to the Phoenix Suns was finalized late Wednesday.

Butler, 33, was picked up by the Suns about seven weeks ago.

Arizona Central’s Paul Coro, who confirmed the trade had gone through, said the Suns appeared to be happy with Butler and mentioned multiple times how he would be a key to the team’s future.

Smith, 25, and Ukranian native Kravtsov, 26, come from the Bucks, leaving the Suns with 17 players under guarenteed contracts once the team signs its first-round pick.
