Carol Burnett intersection: An intersection in Hollywood was named after Actress Carol Burnett last week.

The intersection near Hollywood High School, her alma matter, was named “Carol Burnett Square” to honor her tenure in the entertainment industry, reported KABC TV.

“It’s one of the deepest I’ve ever received in my life,” Burnett, 79, told the station about the ceremony honoring her. “In fact, it’s more personal than anything I’ve ever received.”

The ceremony comes just eight days before her 80th birthday.

She is most well-known for her work in movies and in theater, but she is best-known for “The Carol Burnett Show.”

“I remember going with my grandmother to the movies on Hollywood Boulevard when I was young. And the movies kinda gave me my start,” she recalled, according to CBS Los Angeles.

Burnett told CBS that she hopes the square also serves to honor her daughter as well.

“Carol has Hollywood in her blood and is one of the most energetic, funniest performers we have ever known,” Councilman Tom LaBonge was quoted by Patch.com as saying.
