Carnie Wilson Reality Show Debuts This Week

Singer and game show host Carnie Wilson stars in a new reality show premiering Jan. 14 on the Game Show Network (GSN). “Carnie Wilson: Unstapled” is described by the network as a show that will “draw back the curtain on the personality behind the game show host, as Wilson juggles her careers as game show host, singer, entrepreneur, activist, and—most importantly—as a wife and the mother of two young girls.” In a statement, Wilson notes: “I am thrilled to be working with GSN on my new series. I have so much fun doing THE NEWLYWED GAME, and I love to engage my fans and let them know about what’s happening in my life. I know there are so many people going through the same stages of life that I’m experiencing, and this new series gives us a great opportunity for an honest and lively give-and-take.”

Jean Smart Adopts Baby From China

Actress Jean Smart, 58, announced that she and her husband adopted a baby girl from China during a recent appearance on television’s “The Bonnie Hunt Show.” Smart, her husband Richard Gilliland, and their 19-year-old son Connor went to China last May and returned with their daughter Bonnie, now 18 months old.

Smart reported to Bonnie Hunt that the age difference between her two kids wasn’t an issue, but her son was initially more excited about the trip than the baby. After a few days, however, “[Connor said] ‘This is incredible ... I didn’t know I was going to feel this way ... She’s amazing.’”

Howie Mandel To Judge ‘America’s Got Talent’

Mandel will join fellow judges Piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne. Mandel, 54, additionally has a one hour TV reality/prank show “Howie Do It”, also on NBC, and has authored a book entitled “Here’s the Deal: Don’t touch me;” discussing his struggles with OCD, germophobia, and adult ADHD.
