Cards Against Humanity, the multiplayer card game, had a special Black Friday sale but offered no discounts.
Instead, the company said it is charging $5 more for each of its products.
“We’re participating in the tradition of ‘Black Friday,’ an American holiday celebrating a time when the Wampanoag tribe saved the settlers of Plymouth Colony with incredible deals,” reads the website. “All of our products are $5 more today only, so you can enjoy buying them that much more.”
It said that for people who are “mad” about the Black Friday joke, “you’re probably a bad person.”
According to AllThingsD, the Amazon listings for Cards Against Humanity were $5 more.
“Sometimes resellers buy copies from us and jack up the price. It sucks, but there’s nothing we can do to stop them. We hope you don’t buy Cards Against Humanity from a shady reseller – it only helps them buy more of our games and raise the price further,” it added.
Cards Against Humanity is a party game that asks for players to try and guess the best answer, but the cards are offensive and politically insensitive.
According to Gothamist, the game was invented by childhood friends from Highland Park, Ill., in 2009.
“The idea [for Cards About Humanity] came at the end of December 2008. We were looking for a game to play at our New Year’s Eve party, and we were like, well, let’s make our own question and answer game,” one of the creators, Josh Dillon, told the website.
