In a candid and honest post to Twitter, supermodel Cara Delevingne revealed her struggles with depression.

Delevingne who unexpectedly walked away from the fashion industry, clarified that exact sentiment on April 1 in a Twitter rant.

“Can we just set the record straight,” the 23-year-old beauty wrote on Twitter. “I never said I was quitting modeling. I do not blame the fashion industry for anything.”

“I suffer from depression and was a model during a particularly rough patch of self hatred,” she went on to tweet. “I am so lucky for the work I get to do but I used to work to try and escape and just ended up completely exhausting myself; I am focusing on filming and trying to learn how to not pick apart my every flaw. I am really good at that.”

The British model and actress has walked the catwalk for labels Chanel, Burberry Prorsum, and Givenchy.

On March 30, Yves Saint Laurent announced Delevingne is the new face of their collection, La Collection de Paris couture.

While on hiatus from fashion, Delevingne partook in her other interest: acting.

Making her acting debut in “Suicide Squad” this year, viewers can also expect to see her star in “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets” in 2017.
