Cap'n Crunch rumors which said the cereal would be nixed were dispelled on the company’s website on Thursday.

A statement on the cereal’s website reassures consumers that the cereal is not going anywhere anytime soon.

Rumors emerged that PepsiCo, the parent company of Quaker Oats, was going to shelve the cereal for good.

The Quaker Oats website does not feature a slot for the popular cereal and the lack of the product on the site may have led people to believe that the cereal was going off the market.

Cap'n Crunch not only has its own website, but is listed on Facebook and Twitter.

“Thanks to everyone who was asking about me! I was out on the seas, but don’t worry, I’m back and not going anywhere. I’m excited to be on Facebook and Twitter... a brand new adventure for me!” reads the statement from the fictional captain on the product’s official website.

Some reports noted that the cereal is lacking in nutritional content, has a very high sugar content, and as a result, its maker was going to put an end to the cereal. To combat that, the Cap'n Crunch website posted a guide to healthy living and revamped its website.

“Cap'n Crunch is a great-tasting, crunchy sweetened corn and oat cereal your whole family will love. It’s an excellent source of seven essential vitamins and minerals, is low in fat, and contains zero grams of trans fat per serving,” said the website.

The list provides the proper amount of grains, vegetables, milk, oils, as well as meats and beans one should eat, pointing out the importance of eating breakfast.
