Call of Duty Ghosts DLC: Advanced Warfare Still on Track, Activision Says (Trailer)

Ativisition’s CEO said that while game pre-orders are declining on Wednesday, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare pre-orders are “significantly above” Call of Duty: Ghosts.

CEO Eric Hirshberg said in an earnings call that Call of Duty isn’t “immune” from a dropoff in pre-

“However, within that context, we still expect for Call of Duty to lead the industry in pre-orders once again this year,” he said, according to GameSpot. “We look to other metrics as well, and we’re seeing a lot of strength in those metrics… It’s important to note that pre-orders are just one data point that we look at in determining the momentum of a franchise like this.”

The orders for Advanced Warfare should come at no surprise as the game’s trailer was the most-viewed YouTube trailer from April to June. It features Oscar-winning actor Kevin Spacey.

CinemaBlend notes that Advanced Warfare’s multiplayer trailer will be released sometime in August.

“Join me, Xbox Live’s Aceybongos, and the creators of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare for the world broadcast premiere of the next generation of Call of Duty multiplayer during a special live event streamed on Xbox Live,” said Microsoft’s Larry Hryb via his blog.

Sledgehammer Games said it will show the game’s multiplayer during a live event before Gamescom, which is coming this month.

“Our multiplayer has what I’m going to call the biggest set of new, as you call it, cool gear that you’ve seen in a long time,” said Sledgehammer Games’ Michael Condrey this year. “It’s a big step forward, from three years in development we’ve been able to innovate across the game. Everything you saw today… just imagine what that’s going to mean for multiplayer.”
