California has experienced the deadliest and most destructive wildfires in its history in the last few years. Today we sit down with Adam Summers, a research fellow at the Independent Institute. He previously worked as an editorial writer and columnist at the Orange County Register and its ten sister newspapers in the Southern California News Group, and he’s a senior policy analyst at the Reason Foundation. Based on his research, policy makers in California are currently taking a more reactive approach to wildfires. He discusses how the state can become more proactive regarding fire prevention.
