An article that says California allows human-animal marriage isn’t real.
The article, which says “history was made at the Chapel of Our Lady at the Presidio in San Francisco,” was published on satire site the National Report.
According to its disclaimer, the National Report clearly states it is satire.
“National Report is a news and political satire web publication, which may or may not use real names, often in semi-real or mostly fictitious ways,” it reads.
It adds: “All news articles contained within National Report are fiction, and presumably fake news. Any resemblance to the truth is purely coincidental . The views expressed by writers on this site are theirs alone and are not reflective of the fine journalistic and editorial integrity of National Report. Advice given is NOT to be construed as professional. If you are in need of professional help (and you may be if you are on this page), please consult a professional. National Report is intended for a mature audience and not for children under the age of 18.”
But that didn’t stop tens of thousands of people from sharing it on Facebook, with many believing it is real.
The National Report has tricked people in the past--in part due to it not having name recognition like The Onion--with satire articles including one claiming a fan committed suicide after singer Justin Bieber called her a name, and one about RFID chips being implanted in people as part of the Obamacare mandate.
