The eastbound lanes in the Caldecott Tunnel in California is closed on Friday morning after a car fire inside the tunnel.
A car was fully engulfed in flames about three-quarters of the way through the tunnel, officials said.
Drivers began getting out of their cars and running out of the tunnel, which had filled with smoke.
Eight people were transported to area hospitals.
