Two men who were charged in a shooting at a La Jolla house party that left one young woman dead and three injured have pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter as well as other charges.

The incident occurred on June 23, 2019, around 12:30 a.m. when Odyssey Sellers Carrillo, 23, and Malik Joshue Campbell, 24, shot 20-year-old Nina Silver while she was standing in an alley in the 7500 block of Cuvier Street.

San Diego police said a light-colored sedan drove north in the alley and Carrillo allegedly fired several rounds at the victims.

Prosecutors said that Silver was not the intended target of the shooting and that it was gang-related.

Carrillo was arrested in July 2019 after a high-speed police pursuit, while Campbell was arrested in September 2019.

The San Diego County District Attorney’s Office said Carrillo is expected to receive a 35-year prison sentence and Campbell a 24-year sentence.

Carrillo was charged with manslaughter, one attempted murder count, and two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, while Campbell was charged with three assault counts.

Carrillo and Campbell both pleaded guilty on March 4 to all charges. Their sentencing is set for July.
