Suspect Arrested in Pepper-Spray Attack That Left Man Dead on Metro Bus

Police arrested a suspect Feb. 26 in the pepper-spray attack that left a 62-year-old man dead on a Metro bus in Koreatown last week.

Trayvon Isiah Willingham was arrested in Long Beach, authorities said, on suspicion of murder and his bail was set at $2 million.

The suspect allegedly sprayed the victim Feb. 22 after they got into an argument while riding the bus, according to authorities.

The victim was identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner as Darryl Winborn, 62.

His cause of death is pending, as pepper spray is non-lethal, officials said.

Los Angeles Police officers arrived at the scene after receiving a call about an altercation with a deadly weapon, according to authorities.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics.
