San Diegan Sen. Toni Atkins Announces Campaign for California Governor

SAN DIEGO—Longtime San Diego legislator Toni Atkins Jan. 19 announced her candidacy for governor at an event in Balboa Park.

Ms. Atkins, the California Senate President Pro Tempore, would be the first woman and first openly gay person to serve in that role if elected.
