PALMDALE, Calif.—A man who got into an argument with women and a manager at a Palmdale restaurant allegedly drove a red SUV through the glass at the front of the establishment before leaving the scene, authorities said Jan. 15.

The incident occurred about 9:55 p.m. Sunday at the El Cevichazo Restaurant in the 2700 block of East Palmdale Boulevard, according to Lt. Steve Sgrignoli of the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station.

The man was allegedly under the influence of drugs or alcohol when he tried to pick up one of the women and got into an argument with the manager and other women, Mr. Sgrignoli told City News Service.

He vandalized some property inside the restaurant before he left, got into the SUV and drove through the glass front of the business before leaving from the scene, the lieutenant said.

No one was injured, but deputies estimated there was thousands of dollars in damage, Mr. Sgrignoli said.

Information on the make, model and license of the SUV was not available, but the lieutenant noted it likely had considerable front-end damage.
