Authorities Seek Public Help Finding Abducted 15-Month-Old Boy, Mother

WALNUT, Calif.—Authorities sought the public’s assistance Feb. 7 in locating a 15-month-old boy allegedly abducted by his 31-year-old mother from his legal guardian in Walnut.

Miguel Eduardo Medina was last seen Feb. 6 around 9:30 a.m. in the 500 block of Grand Avenue near Valley Boulevard and the Industry city limits, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

Bridgette Benitez picked up the toddler from the location and was concealing him from his legal guardian, deputies said.

Deputies described Miguel as a 3-foot-tall Hispanic boy weighing 17 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a brown jacket, blue jeans, and black Adidas shoes.

Ms. Benitez was identified as a 5-foot-1-inch tall Hispanic woman weighing 139 pounds with blond hair and brown eyes. It was unclear what she was last seen wearing.

Ms. Benitez is presumed to be driving a 2021 black Toyota Camry with California license plate 8WAS968, deputies said.
