ORANGE, Calif.—A suspect was arrested in connection with a shooting outside a bar in Old Towne Orange over the weekend that left two men wounded, authorities said Jan. 15.

The shooting occurred early on Saturday morning, shortly after midnight, according to the Orange Police Department.

“Officers patrolling downtown heard gunshots and responded to a bar located in the 200 block of W. Chapman Avenue,” police said in a statement.

In the parking lot, officers located two male adult victims suffering from non-life threatening gunshot wounds. The wounded men were taken to a hospital in stable condition, police said.

“During the investigation, a male adult suspect was located in the area and in possession of a handgun,” police said. “He was arrested and booked at Orange County Jail.”

The suspect’s name was not immediately available.

According to the Orange County Register, the wounded men were found near Paul’s Cocktails, an 82-year-old bar with a rear parking lot shared by other businesses. There appeared to have been “some sort of drunken argument” prior to the shooting, Lt. Phil McMullen told the publication.

Police urged anyone with information about the shooting to contact investigators at 714-744-7571.
