2 Arrested After High-Speed Chase Through 2 Counties

SANTA ANA, Calif.—Two suspects were in custody Saturday following a high-speed pursuit that began in Los Angeles County and ended outside John Wayne Airport in Orange County.

The pursuit began in the San Pedro-Wilmington area around 8:20 p.m. Friday.

ABC7 reported that Los Angeles police officers with the department’s Harbor Division initially began chasing the pair for alleged reckless driving.

The suspect’s blue sedan reached speeds as high as 120 mph during the ensuing pursuit, as the suspects transitioned from the Harbor (110) Freeway to the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway into Orange County.

The suspects exited the 405 Freeway at MacArthur Boulevard in the Irvine-Santa Ana area before finally entering the lower level of John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana.

The suspects were arrested outside the airport’s Terminal C area shortly before 9 p.m. Friday.

There were no reports of any injuries. The suspects’ names were not immediately available.
