A new dress code will be put in place for New York City’s 13,000 cabdrivers, according to a statement from the city’s Taxi and Limousine Commission on Friday.

New regulations will instruct cabdrivers to “present a professional appearance,” said David Yassky, TLC commissioner, according to Reuters.

The exact meaning of “professional” has not yet been defined, but an earlier unenforced TLC regulation bans sleeveless shirts, short shorts, and open-toed shoes.
