World Shares Mostly Higher After S&P 500 Tops 5,000

BANGKOK—Shares in Europe advanced Monday after a quiet day in Asia, where most regional markets were closed for holidays.
Germany’s DAX added 0.4 percent to 16,990.02 and the CAC 40 in Paris also was up 0.4 percent, at 7,676.03. Britain’s FTSE 100 was nearly unchanged at 7,570.41.
