New Single-Family Home Sales Jump 3.6 Percent

Sales are expected to see a ‘slight gain’ this year amid strong macroeconomic conditions, according to a real estate expert.­

More new single-family homes were sold in December 2024 on both a monthly and annual basis, with sales for all of 2024 up from the previous year, according t­o data from the U.S. Census Bureau.

“Sales of new single-family houses in December 2024 were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 698,000,” the agency said in a Jan. 27 statement.
