Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence startup xAI plans to invest more than $20 billion to build a large data center in Southaven, Mississippi, marking the largest economic development project in the state’s history, Gov. Tate Reeves said on Jan. 8.

The investment is set to create hundreds of jobs and boost local tax revenues, the governor’s office said in a statement, announcing the project.
