A bus crashed into a Moscow subway entrance, killing at least four people and injuring 15, Russian officials said.
Russian officials said the driver told police that the bus began to move suddenly. Officials said there are no indicators that the crash is a terrorist attack.
The driver tried to apply the brakes, but they didn’t work, according to the investigative committee, as the broadcaster reported. The driver was sober during the crash.
Security camera footage shown on Russian television revealed people being struck by the bus as it headed down the steps.
An unnamed emergency services source told TASS news agency that the number of fatalities had risen to five people. There were also unconfirmed reports that some 15 people had been injured.
Interfax news agency said investigators were looking into whether the incident had occurred as a result of a technical fault with the bus.
