NEW YORK—Five people were injured in a building collapse in Brighton Beach on Nov. 8. One person is in critical condition, three in serious condition, and one refused medical attention.

The collapsed building at 2929 Brighton 5th Street was under construction. The collapse was declared a major emergency and 35 units and more than 140 firefighters responded, according to the Fire Department.

The owner of the building is R.S. CONDO LLC, with offices in Brooklyn. The architect for the building is Bricolage Designs, also with offices in Brooklyn.

The building has three violations and one open complaint on record with the Department of Buildings.
