NEW YORK—The Buffalo Bills are continuing their efforts to reorganize their office lineup this year and have moved former national talent scout Buddy Nix to the position of general manager.

Nix made a name for himself scouting football talent from the South Eastern Conference. The players and the owner Ralph Wilson feel that Nix is ready to take a step up.

Russ Brandon who was the previous general manager has moved up in rank to chief executive officer and is working directly under Wilson, opening up the spot for Nix.

“I am looking forward to working with him and he said that anything I can do to help him with this process, I am able to call him and give my two cents,” said Hall of Fame running back Thurman Thomas about Nix at recent press conference.

The 5–10 Bills are set to play the 14–1 Indianapolis Colts as their season comes to a close this Sunday. Wilson’s changes were supported by fans and faculty members due to the team’s dismal season.

Besides restructuring the front office, the Bills have to sort out their quarterback selection as well. Ryan Fitzpatrick has been leading the team in their recent practices but it is still undecided if he is the permanent solution.

“It was good to have him back out there. He looked pretty good,” said Perry Fewell, Bills interim head coach in a recent press conference regarding Fitzpatrick.

Anyway you look at it, the Buffalo Bills have a lot to straighten out before they are capable of mounting a charge to the playoffs next season.
