Gandee, 21, was among three people who were found dead in Sissonville, West Virginia. His body was found in a truck, reported the Charleston Gazette.

Earlier on Monday, Sheriff’s deputies sent out a missing persons notice for Shaine and his uncle, David Gandee.

David Gandee and Robert Myers, a family friend, were also confirmed dead, reported WCHS-TV.

David and Shaine Gandee were last seen at a bar in Sissonville at around 3 a.m. on Sunday, and the two were reportedly going to go four-wheeling over the weekend. However, when they were not heard from, family members spent Sunday looking for the two before they called 911.

WCHS television reported that a man on a four-wheeler spotted three people in a vehicle on Wolf Pen Road on Monday. Emergency services were called to the scene, and the three were later pronounced dead.

MTV released a statement on Monday, saying that the network is “shocked and saddened by the terrible news about Shain Gandee, and those involved in this tragic incident. We are waiting for more information but at this time, our main concern is for the Gandee family and their friends,” according to TMZ, which first broke the story.

It added: “Our thoughts and prayers are with them. Shain had a magnetic personality, with a passion for life that touched everyone he met and we will miss him dearly.”
