LOS ANGELES—Bronny James, son of Lakers star LeBron James, has committed to play college basketball at USC next season.

James, who plays at Sierra Canyon School in Chatsworth, made the announcement May 6 on Instagram. He chose the Trojans over Ohio State, Memphis, and Oregon.

The 6-foot-3 inch guard was a McDonald’s All-American in his senior season at Sierra Canyon, averaging 14.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.4 assists.

The younger James is ranked among the top five high school point guards in the country, according to ESPN.

LeBron James, who was preparing to play against the Golden State Warriors in Game 3 of the Western Conference semifinals as the news broke, has expressed a desire to play with Bronny in the NBA someday, but that would have to wait until at least the 2024–25 NBA season.
