Britney Spears father Jamie Spears reportedly vetted her new love interest Charlie Ebersol, including making him sign a confidentiality agreement.

Jamie also made him undergo a background check, according to the new report.

An insider told Radar Online that Ebersol, 31, “completely understood when told about what it took to date Spears.”

He had to “pass through the gauntlet” but he quickly got the “seal of approval” from family and friends.

The agreement prohibits him from ever talking about his relationship with Spears, 32.

Her father actually “found” Ebersol and thought he'd be a good match for his daughter, Radar says.

“Britney and Charlie have hit it off and she has her father to thank for this,” a source said. “She said she does not know where he finds them.”

The dad-test was confirmed by the Daily Mail, who spoke to a long-time friend of Ebersol.

“Charlie had to pass the dad test for sure,” the friend said. “And Charlie had to pass legal muster, too, with that mob of lawyers that run her world.”

Spears’ finances and personal life are in the hands of lawyers and her father due to her breakdown several years ago.

After getting the approval, Ebersol was then introduced to Spears and her inner circle.

“This guy is really hot and he is incredibly wealthy, so we all obviously approve,” said a source, who works on Spears’ show in Las Vegas.

“It is just really great to see her so happy and we are glad that she has found someone that she can relate to who is on her level.”

Jamie knows that his daughter does better when she has a man in her life.

“Britney functions best with a man in her life, and Jamie knows that. He’s is good at selecting just the right candidates. They last a while. That’s all anyone can ask, really. Britney has a complicated life,” the source said.

“It took less than a month for Jamie to find Charlie. He eyeballed him from a distance at first. But after a few meetings together, Jamie knew he'd found a good guy.”

Then Jamie made it seem like Britney’s idea.

“Jamie had to do this stuff slowly and cautiously, so Britney wouldn’t rebel. He had to make it seem like it was her idea to date Charlie, and not the other way around or it wouldn’t work.”
