Brazilian protesters captured what appeared to be a UFO, but a recent report said it was actually a drone controlled by a pilot in a remote location.

Several videos of the incident in Brazil were uploaded on YouTube last week, showing a bright light darting through the night sky. Protesters pointed upward at the sky and shouted.

But later, as reported by the Huffington Post, a video was posted with the object’s perspective, confirming that it was a drone. The drone was piloted by Sao Paulo station Folha TV, which was capturing the protests.

“The whole business of UFOs is sold under the faulty logic of ignorance. We don’t know what it was, therefore we know what it was,” Joe Nickell, who serves as an investigator with the Skeptical Inquirer, told the Post. “If you put anything up in the sky it will end up a UFO to many people.”

He said that with the proliferation of cheaper drone technology, there will be more purported “UFO” sightings .

However, there have been some sightings of UFOs that are perplexing and don’t appear to be drones.

Two weeks ago, a Dutch woman spotted what appeared to be a UFO flying over a medieval castle in the Netherlands. The object had an odd “S-shape,” she told the Post.

And a video showed a UFO flying into a Mexican volcano several weeks ago.
