Brady Quinn, the former first-round pick for the Cleveland Browns - and an Ohio native - was traded to the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

The trade seemed to be certain after the Browns signed former Carolina Panthers’ quarterback, Jake Delhomme, over the weekend.

Delhomme was recently cut after 2 disappointing seasons with the Panthers.

Brady Quinn was traded for fullback Peyton Hills in what appears to be changes for the offense under the Mike Holmgren era of the Browns.

Homgren was recently hired as President of Operations for the Cleveland Browns.

Continuing Quarterback Controversy

The Browns have had a long history of trying to fill their quarterback position leading back to the days of one of their few franchise quarterbacks, Bernie Kosar.

The nineties are regarded as a sort of rebirth for the Cleveland Browns, when the former owners moved the team to Baltimore and started the Ravens franchise. Cleveland in 1999 drafted Tim Couch as the first pick overall.

After several lackluster seasons, Couch was released in 2005.

The Browns then drafted a high profile quarterback with Quinn. Quinn, a former Notre Dame quarterback standout and native Ohioan, also failed to perform to expectations after battling and winning the top spot against starting quarterback Derek Anderson.
