Boyfriend wrecks Danica: Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Danice Patrick’s boyfriend, got into a wreck with her during a race on May 26.
Patrick was in the 21st position one lap down when the front of her car made contact with Brad Keselowski’s car, according to ESPN. Patrick’s car was damaged so she had to take multiple pit stops.
Television replays show Stenhouse possibly making contact with Patrick’s car, causing her to lose control of her car.
“He was laps down. … Pisses me off when guys do that,” Patrick said in communication with crew chief Tony Gibson.
Keselowski took the blame, though, according to Fox Sports.
“I was three-wide with Danica and didn’t know it and I cut her off and wrecked her and myself,” Keselowski said. “I feel bad for her and I send my apologies to her. It’s just a long night for the Miller Lite Ford.
“We’ll move on. That’s all you can do.”
Patrick was forced to retire from the race while Stenhouse continued racing.
