Living in Boston and wondering what the weather’s going to be like for the New Year’s Eve and New Year’s?

Well, you can expect a chilly, but mostly dry, New Year’s Eve and New Year. If you are out partying, do prepare for freezing temperatures though: the temperature is currently a cold 19F, might go up to only as high as 28F today, and goes back down to 19F or below later at night.

This New Year’s Eve is indeed one of those ones where you might do well to watch the fireworks virtually while curled up in a warm mattress.

New Year’s is supposed to be similar weather: 28F during the day, dropping to 18F during the night. But its also expected to be a bit more sunny, in contrast to a more overcast New Year’s Eve.

But do expect it to get worse just after New Year’s. With a major snowstorm expected on January 2nd, temperatures will also drop. On Thursday, temparture maxes out at 21F, going down to 12F at night. Friday will be even colder, with a maximum of 14F during the day and dropping to 0F during night.

The good news? After the snowstorm on Thursday/Friday and low temperatures, it does go up during the weekend and Monday. So you can at least expect a good start to the New Year.
