The Boston Marathon costume one Michigan woman donned for Halloween was “bad judgement,' says a runner who felt the blasts at the marathon finish line.
The costume was of a victim of the blasts, now known as the Boston Marathon bombings.
John Koltvedt, who felt the explosions at the finish line in April, said the costume was “bad judgement.”
“I don’t know this girl, but she obviously has an issue with her judgement,” Koltvedt told Michigan Live. “To me, it will always be too soon.”
Alicia Ann Lynch, the girl who wore the costume, has deleted all of her social media accounts amid death threats sent to her and her parents.
She also lost her job as a result of the photo she posted on Twitter of her in costume.
“I’ve had voicemails where they want to slit my throat and they want to hang me and tear off my face,” she told BuzzFeed. “I’m just like, I don’t even know how to respond to this right now.”
“Honestly, it’s the Day of the Dead,” she says. “I wasn’t a dead person, I wasn’t being disrespectful. I was a survivor of a marathon. And it’s not like I was walking around with a fake leg or my arm torn off or something like that.”
She added: "It happened, I made a mistake. I just have to learn from it. I’m not a terrible person.”
