The Boston Bridge in Elizabeth, Penn., near Pittsburgh was flooded on Wednesday, according to accounts on Twitter.

“Pittsburgh Swift Water Rescue Team called to Boston Bridge in Elizabeth, where people are trapped in cars,” wrote Jim Wilhelm with PittsburghLive.com.

The flooding comes after flash floods were reported in residential areas.

Allegheny County officials tweeted: “ROAD CLOSURES: Boston Hollow Rd btwn Boston Bridge & Pierce Rd (Elizabeth Twp) & Lovedale near Cross Creek for downed wires (Lincoln).”
