Everybody loves a good holiday every once in a while, and if you’re on a budget, it’s very important that you get the best holiday that you possibly can for your money. Your dream holiday might not be very far away, as long as you plan carefully and know exactly how to go about doing it. Here are some of the top tips for booking your dream holiday and getting as much as you can for your money.

  1. Be organised and plan ahead

Planning ahead will definitely leave you in a better position when it comes to getting the best deal that you can for your holiday. People who go on holiday each year to the same place will book the best places year after year. If you don’t plan ahead and book quickly enough, you won’t get any of the best places. The good places at the right prices definitely go a lot quicker than most people think, so book earlier to avoid disappointment. Booking at least six months in advance is usually safe – any later than this and you can’t be guaranteed to get the best deals.

  1. Keep all the paperwork

To avoid stress as much as possible, keep all the paperwork for everything that you’ve booked. The worst thing that can happen is that you arrive at your rented house or hotel, only to discover that you do not have the paperwork available to prove that you’ve booked it. Nowadays, it’s not very difficult, since most confirmation messages are sent via email or text message. As long as you have your phone with you, you'll be able to show that you’ve booked the place for the nights you want and there won’t be any problem. However, some places, especially those run by individual people or couples, still work the old-fashioned way and send out paper confirmations. If this is the case, make sure that you take all the paperwork. This applies not only to the hotel but to everything else you might have booked.

  1. Have a Plan B

If your original plan goes wrong, think about what you could do in order to still have the holiday but just in a different way. For example, what if the dates you’ve booked everything around aren’t available, or what if the flights or trains are cancelled and you can’t make it to the place? These are things that you need to think about, especially if you’re travelling with other people and things could get a little complicated if they went wrong. For example, imagine if you were travelling to Holiday Inn San Antonio and ended up travelling to the wrong place. This shouldn’t happen if you’re organised and make sure you know exactly where to go, but just be careful and always carry spare cash with you in case of an emergency.

  1. Always check the terms and conditions

Whenever you book anything, always check the terms and conditions before confirming your booking. Even after you’ve confirmed the booking and paid for it, you should still read them if you haven’t already in case you’ve missed something. You can then cancel it and get most of your money back (or even all of your money back if they have a generous refund policy). For example, you could discover that you can’t check in unless you’re 21 years old or over, and you’re only 19 at the moment. You arrive at the hotel, only to find that it’s impossible for you to check in. You’re miles away from home, all the hotel rooms are booked in the area and you’ve nowhere to go. Sometimes it helps a lot just to read over the conditions of the booking contract in case of any mishaps.

  1. Check, check, check!

Check things out all the time so that your holiday runs as smoothly as possible. Even when you’re travelling to the place you’re going to stay, phone up and make sure that everything is ready for your arrival and nothing has happened that could prevent you from staying there. This might seem too “keen” or too bothered for some people, but just remember that it’s your holiday and it’s important to you that everything goes as well as possible.

There is a great opportunity to travel abroad as well, there is a Costa Rica vacation rental for affordable prices. For being one of the most beautiful countries in the world, these rentals and the trip won’t break the bank!
