Two guns that are believed to have been seized from notorious bank robbers Bonnie and Clyde in a shootout with police in 1933 were sold for $210,000 in total, according to media reports.

An online bidder bought a Thompson submachine gun, known as a “Tommy gun,” for $130,000, and the same person paid $80,000 for a 12-gauge shotgun, the Kansas City Star reports.

The guns were auctioned off by Robert Mayo, the owner of Kansas City-based Mayo Auction & Realty.

“This is a piece of history,” Mayo said at the auction, according to the newspaper. “You came a long way. Don’t let it slip away.”

It is believed that both firearms were left behind when the two gangsters fired at police when they entered their Joplin, Mo., apartment in 1933. The two escaped but shot dead two police officers.

A police officer gave the guns to Mark Lairmore and they remained in his family until they were sold over the weekend.
