Eight people are dead after an Aerocon plane crashed in Bolivia in Riberalta, including the captain Cecilia Tapia.

Heavy rain was falling as the small plane carrying 18 people crashed into the ground after taking off from Trinidad.

Seven bodies were so charred that officials couldn’t immediately identify them, Jose Luis Pereira, director of the Riberalta hospital, told Reuters.

Solde Pando, a Bolivian news agency, said that Tapia, a mother of a two-year-old, has died.
