Boehner son-in-law pot: The future son-in-law of Republican House Speaker John Boehner was once arrested for pot possession, according to a report.

The speakers’ daughter, Lindsay Boehner, is engaged to Jamaican-born Dominic Lakhan, who was arrested in 2006 after he was pulled over, according to the New York Daily News. A police officer found four grams of marijuana in his ashtray.

“Officer also detected the odor of burnt cannabis emitting from the interior of the vehicle,” said the police report.

Lakhan was also arrested for driving in possession with an open container of alcohol in 2003.

“The Speaker’s daughters are not public figures. Accordingly, our office does not comment on their personal lives, even with respect to joyous family occasions such as their weddings,” Boehner’s office told CBS News.

Boehner has been opposed to legalizing marijuana, including for medical reasons.
