COSTA MESA, Calif.—Orange County firefighters recovered a body from the Santa Ana River between Costa Mesa and Huntington Beach on Jan. 4.

Authorities were called just after noon to recover the body near the Victoria Bridge between the two cities, Orange County sheriff’s Sgt. Todd Hylton said.

The man’s body was recovered downstream about 500 yards north of Pacific Coast Highway about 2:30 p.m., Hylton said.

There was no immediate information available on the cause of death or how the body wound up in the river.
