A body found in Washington state has been confirmed to be that of a missing 54-year-old woman.

Cheryl DeBoer was found dead in Mountlake Terrace on Sunday, Feb. 14, after going missing on Feb. 8.

Her employer confirmed in a statement obtained by Q13 Fox that the body found in a culvert on Cedar Way and 244th Street SW was indeed DeBoer. The body was found less than a mile and a half from where authorities discovered her car, near the Mountlake Terrace Transit Center.

Police say they’re still investigating and wouldn’t confirm the statement by Fred Hutch Cancer Research Center.

“It’s too early to determine anything,” said Commander Kevin Pickard of the Mountlake Terrace Police Department. “At this time, we’ve just started our investigation.”

DeBoer’s family is also waiting for more information before making any statements.

But the research center said it received confirmation that the body was DeBoer.

“Cheryl has been in the hearts and minds of her many friends and coworkers, and we are deeply saddened by this tragic news,” said Han Nachtrieb, vice president of human resources, in a statement, reported NWCN. “Our condolences go out to her family, her many friends, and all those who are grieving.”
