The bodies of three men who have been missing since May may have been found after authorities pulled a car from the Green River near Jensen, Utah, KUTV reported.
Robert Spoon, 33, Jason Tilt, 33 and Jacob Tilt, 29, have been missing since last month from Vernal, the Uintah County Sherff’s Office said.
The bodies were located in a submerged vehicle that matched the description of the missing persons reports. An investigation is now underway. Officials said the same black Chevy Silverado model the men were last seen in was pulled from the river, the Gephardt Daily reported.
The cause of death will be determined after the bodies are transported to the state medical examiner’s office in Salt Lake City.
“We would like to thank the families involved and the community for the various tip and leads that allowed for this targeted search,” the sheriff’s office wrote on its Facebook page.
A family friend, meanwhile, told Fox13 that the three bodies likely belonged to the missing men.
Spoon, and Jason and Jacob Tilt were last seen alive May 22 after a softball game. Family members attempted to contact them, but their cell phones were unresponsive.
