Rumors about a movie focusing on Boba Fett, as one of multiple spin-off films planned in the Star Wars series, have been flying around, including about whether the release date will be in 2015.

Some new ones have come out recently, so let’s check them out.

-It’s definitely happening.

Metalocalypse director Joe Schnepp has claimed that the spin-off is definitely happening. In an interview with AMC Movie Talk, he said he knew for sure that one of the planned spin-offs will be about Boba Fett.

“It is. I know. I know for a fact,” he said. “I will never reveal my source, but it is the one written by Lawrence Kasdan.”

-The movie is planned for 2018.

Star Wars Episode VII is planned for December 2015, and after that there are plans for a Star Wars movie--including spin-offs--to come out every year.

Sources told Latino Review that the movie is planned for 2018

-There' s a crazy story.

These sources said that the movie will start with a complete stranger killing Boba Fett and taking his armor and his name.

-The movie is likely going to be written by Lawrence Kasdan

Schnepp says that Kasdan is slated to write the script.

Kasdan wrote “The Empire Strikes Back” and “The Return of the Jedi.”

-Kasdan says he’s writing the script for a spin-off (he didn’t say whether it was Boba Fett or not) and that he wants to start fresh

Kasdan told the LA Times: “I’m trying to start fresh,” he said. “There are certain pleasures that we think the saga can bring to people that they’ve been missing, and we’re hoping to bring them that, and at the same time, have them feel that it’s all new.”

He said that he’s going to work with Simon Kinberg (“X Men: Days of Future Past”) and Michael Arndt (“Episode VII”).

-The movie could be directed by Joe Johnston (“Captain America”)

Johnston is on the top of the list, the Latino Review sources said.
