Bob Casale, the guitarist for Devo, has died at age 61, it was reported.

TMZ reported that Casale, who was a founding member of the band, died Monday.

He was suffering health complications that led to heart failure.

“As an original member of Devo, Bob Casale was there in the trenches with me from the beginning. He was my level-headed brother, a solid performer, and talented audio engineer, always giving more than he got,” Gerald Casale, his brother and also a member of the band, told the website.

Formed in 1972, Devo smashed the charts with “Whip It” in 1981.
